Mass Casualty Evacuation & Transportation Units

Mass Casualty Evacuation and Transportation UnitUsing funds from the Hampton Roads Metropolitan Medical Response System contracts and grants the HRMMRS with support from the jurisdictions and hospitals listed below, have developed 10 Mass Casualty Evacuation and Transportation Units (MCETUs). Each of the jurisdictions and hospitals listed have agreed to accept their MCETU and make it available to support the Hampton Roads Metropolitan Medical Response System (HRMMRS):

  • Chesapeake
  • Hampton
  • Isle of Wight County
  • Newport News
  • Norfolk
  • Riverside Regional Medical Center
  • Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital
  • Suffolk
  • Virginia Beach
  • York County

Our History

The HRMMRS began as a DHS Grant Program in 1999. The HRMMRS continues to support & enhance Hampton Roads public safety, hospital, public health, & emergency management response capabilities to manage mass casualty incidents.
